Me Ginette Tétreault obtained her law degree from Ottawa University in 1992. She had obtained a previous degree in linguistics from the same university.

She has, among other occupations, taught French, served as parliamentary assistant on the Hill and, while she was raising her own five children, taken charge of many other children as a foster mother. Quite naturally, she quickly developed a love of family law after becoming a lawyer.
